Cosmorom (100% owned by RomTelecom) launched its service in April 11, 2000 being the first network operating on GSM 1800. Cosmorom SA offered a subscription based service (Cosmorom) and a prepaid service (Cosmo). In July 2005, Cosmote Greece acquired 70% of the Cosmorom shares.
