Dialog is a trademark of Mobil Rom SA, the company that launched the GSM network in Romania, on June, 1997. The members of the consortium were: France Telecom Mobiles International - 51%, Media Pro Group - 30%, Computerland - 10%, Tomen Telecom Project Romania and Alcatel Network Systems Romania (9%).

     Mobil Rom SA offered a subscription based service (Dialog) and a prepaid service (Alo).

     Beginning with late 1999 the new structure of shareholders was: France Telecom Group - 67%, American Investment Group and Societe Generale - 14.28%, MMR Group (Media Pro, MBL Computers and Radcom) - 9.52%, Tomen Company Japan - 5.1%, Alcatel NV - 2.86%.

     In May 2000, France Telecom acquired Orange and decided this is going to be the name of the group that will bring together all its mobile communications activities.

     Starting with April 2002, Dialog and Alo became Orange. The structure of shareholders was: France Telecom Group - 67%, American Investment Group and Societe Generale - 14.28%, MMR Group (Media Pro, MBL Computers and Radcom) - 9.52%, Tomen Company Japan - 5.1%, Alcatel NV - 2.86%.

     In April 2005 France Telecom reached an agreement to major its participation in Orange Romania at 96.63% by purchasing a 23% pack of shares from an investors' group run by AIG New Europe Fund.

     Orange Romania SA offers a subscription based service (Orange) and a prepaid service (Orange PrePay).
